Three Pieces Of Information You Will Need To Know To Apply Online For A Credit Card
May 16, 2010 - 1:59 amYou know you want it! Now, the question is how to get it. The answer is with a credit card. Filling out an application for a credit card online has been made a lot simpler and there are hundreds of credit cards to apply for, providing you are willing to share your personal information. Credit card companies are willing to loan you money for your much-wanted purchases and expenses, but they do want some assurances from you. Simple things – like do you have an address, for instance. (It’s true, credit card companies don’t like to send statements to ‘the guy in the red jacket sitting in front of Jackie’s Diner with the shopping cart’. Delivery is just never assured.)
The personal information you must fill out when submitting a credit card application online can seem intrusive. But fear not, it is quite simple. And face it – you’ve been sharing your personal information online for quite some time now. At least they don’t want compromising pictures.
When you are applying online for a credit card, you likely chose this method due to its quickness and efficiency. So, be prepared. Be quick and efficient! Have the information you need at your fingertips when you sit down to apply. There’s few things worse than sitting down to fill out an application only to discover you need to start rummaging through files, purses and wallets to find the information you need. Here are the three important pieces of information you will need to fill out your credit card application online.
It’s all about identity! You will need a social security number or some government-issued identification. Yes, credit card companies are sticklers about knowing who you are. It’s not that they want a personal relationship, but they do want to know you are a real person and not just somebody’s pet dog looking to get into the Guinness Book Records for most credit cards obtained.
It’s all about payback! Credit card companies do expect you to be able to payback their loaned money, with interest. So they will require a statement of earnings in order to judge whether you are in a position to pay for your much-deserved purchases. Specifically, they are interested in income that has been recorded with the government, so you will need to know your annual gross income from your previous year’s take return or W-2.
It’s all about contact! You will need to provide an address because credit card companies do like to have a place to send their statements. They are sticklers like that.
Having this information in-hand will get you to the end result much faster and with more ease.
